FlashAsk (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is operated by an individual entrepreneur (sole proprietor) registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use:

  • The FlashAsk desktop application
  • The FlashAsk website

By using FlashAsk, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Website Data

When you visit our website, we may collect:

  • Basic analytics data (via Google Analytics)
  • Anonymous usage statistics
  • IP address (for standard web request processing)

We use Google Analytics to understand traffic and improve our website. We do not use analytics data to personally identify visitors.

1.2 Account Information (Future Feature)

If you create an account (when enabled), we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Google account authentication data (if signing in via Google)
  • Internal user ID

Authentication may be provided via Google Sign-In or email/password. You may use the application without registration (with limited features).

1.3 Application Data

The FlashAsk desktop application:

  • Does NOT store chat history on our servers
  • Does NOT store user prompts or AI responses
  • Does NOT collect device information
  • Does NOT track files or personal content

Chat history (if enabled in future versions) will be stored locally on your device only.

1.4 IP Address & Country Detection

We temporarily process your IP address solely to determine your country. This allows us to:

  • Improve contextual answers (e.g., currency rates, local information)
  • Optimize AI responses

We do not store IP addresses permanently.

1.5 Usage Statistics

We collect limited usage data, including:

  • Country
  • User ID or email (if registered)
  • Number of requests made
  • Token usage statistics

We do NOT store:

  • User prompts
  • AI responses
  • Conversation content

This data is used solely for service improvement, system performance monitoring, and future billing functionality.

2. AI Processing

FlashAsk uses AI services provided by Google (Gemini API).

When you submit a question:

  • Your prompt is sent to Google’s Gemini API for processing.
  • We include your country (derived from IP) to improve contextual accuracy.
  • We do NOT store prompts or responses on our servers.
  • We do not use your data to train AI models.

3. Payments (Future Feature)

When payments are enabled, transactions will be processed by Stripe.

We will not store credit card details on our servers. All payment information will be handled directly by Stripe.

4. Data Retention

We retain only anonymous usage metrics and request counts associated with user ID or email. We do not retain chat content.

When account deletion functionality becomes available, users will be able to request deletion of their associated data.

5. International Users

FlashAsk is available worldwide. By using the service, you understand that your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including servers operated by third-party providers such as Google and Stripe.

6. Children’s Privacy

FlashAsk is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect collected information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
